Good Faith Estimate | The Motherhood Wellness Center

No Surprises Act

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

We believe in full transparency. As a private-pay practice, we want you to feel informed and empowered about the cost of your care before treatment begins.

Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

Because The Motherhood Wellness Center operates as a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your mental health care will cost.

What You Should Know

📋

Receive a Cost Estimate

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like individual therapy sessions, consultations, and evaluations.

📅

Timely Written Notice

Your health care provider must give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your scheduled service. You can also ask your provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a session.

🛡️

Right to Dispute

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. This protection ensures you aren't surprised by unexpected charges.

💾

Keep Your Records

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. Having this documentation protects you and gives you a reference point for any future billing questions.
